Family Physicians are trained to provide health care for patients of all ages, including infants
and the elderly.
We encourage wellness through preventive exams, immunizations, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. At Rio Family Medicine, our goal is to treat each person as an individual with unique concerns that require our undivided attention. Most conditions are treated in the office, including acute illness, chronic diseases, mental health problems, musculoskeletal injuries, mole removal and laceration repair. With more serious problems we will continue your personal care at Martha Jefferson Hospital or refer you to the services at the UVA Hospital. |
Preventive care includes well-child exams, women's health issues and physicals for all ages. Our office is equipped to perform IV therapy, skin biopsies, EKGs, vision and hearing screenings, and blood draws. Patient education is promoted through the availability of high-speed Internet access at a computer station in our waiting room. When we aren't able to fully resolve your medical problems, we know which specialist will be right for you, and will help coordinate a referral.
